Weddings at Villa pizzo

Timeless elegance and Old World romance abound in this 17th century villa with the original, restored interiors + hand-painted frescoes and one of the most magnificent gardens spanning Lake Como.

Beloved especially for its dynamic event spaces and proximity to Villa D'Este for accommodations, Villa Pizzo exudes opportunity from the stone terrace atop the old boathouse to the incredibly curated collection of  exotic Mediterranean plants, Japanese camphor trees and hundreds of rose varieties, including some preserved from the 17th and 18th centuries.

Through the years, it's garnered the attention of many A-list celebrities, and it's certainly not hard to see why!

Castello di Vicarello is not just an off-the-beaten path retreat overflowing with rustic elegance, it's a way of life that immerses you in la dolce far niente so significantly, it leaves a permanent impression on your heart.

The details...

With the ability to host up to 200 guests, Villa Pizzo is a wonderful choice for couples with a penchant for the grand and extraordinary. The private pier allows for an unforgettable arrival as guests soak up the postcard Bellagio views directly across from the villa, while the timeworn peignor facade of Villa Pizzo itself highlights the architectural mastery across every corner.

To the left of the house sits the Orangerie, perfuming the air with the scent of freshly grown lemons and oranges. The garden in the Orangerie Courtyard provides ample photo opportunities consider the privacy of the location and the vibrant collection of florals sprawling across the space.

As you move to the right of the house, you stumble straight into a manicured Italian garden, cozily sectioned off with boxwood hedges and stone sculptures that  create a sense of enchantment you only get from labyrinthine gardens.

Continuing down the winding lakeshore path, your senses are heightened by the marvelous landscaping that has been preserved all these years. One of our favorite ways to build anticipation for the guests, this immersive walk through nature with welcome cocktail in hand culminates in a jaw-dropping reveal of the dramatic stone terrace atop the old boathouse with panoramic views of the lake. Aptly named The Darsena, this is easily the most popular choice for the Ceremony.

The splendorous surroundings only build throughout the events, as guests begin to explore the interior salons in the main house with their mosaic floors, ornate moldings and original artwork.

Still, the al fresco portions of Villa Pizzo are where it shines the most. Take the formal Court of the villa, for example. Overlooking the lake and framed by a perfect balance of architecture and landscaping, this vast space is replete with opportunities for an unforgettable wedding meal... a grand entrance for the newlyweds from the top of the double staircase, a moonlit serenade from a local mandolin and guitar duo, a waterfront cutting of the traditional Italian wedding cake, the millefoglie... We could go on!

Another key benefit of Villa Pizzo is its absence of neighbors, allowing music to continue much later into the night than you'll find at other properties across the more crowded lake villages. While this venue itself does not provide on-site accommodations, the nearby Villa D'este has ample space with 152 rooms.

It's hard to imagine an Italian wedding venue more suited for royalty. Connect with us today for more information if you're interested in planning your destination wedding at Villa Pizzo!

Where is Villa Pizzo?

Situated on the border of Cernobbio and Moltrasio, on the western shore of the lake, Villa Pizzo is just a quick 10 minute drive from the village of Como. If you're coming directly from Milan's Malpensa airport, the drive is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.
